IFISS is in the beginning stages of organizing a lecture/presentation/creative writing and translation workshops tour to universties and Italian cultural associations in the United States by an Italian children's book writer and translator. More information will be posted as the project develops.

Weaving A Tradition Documentary Preview

This preview is the first 3 minutes of the documentary and is in Italian with English subtitles.

SUMMARY
English: The Confraternities of Santu Lussurgiu in Sardinia have traditionally played an important role with the weaving of palms and participation in the ritual of Palm Sunday in the village. This film explores that role and how the Confraternities are trying involve the younger generation to insure this tradition does not die.

Italian: Fin dalla loro fondazione, le Confraternite di Santu Lussurgiu rivestono un ruolo centrale nei riti che si svolgono in paese durante la Settimana Santa. In particolare, questo breve documentario intende testimoniare la loro attività relativa alla tradizionale "tessitura" delle palme che verranno poi distribuite ai fedeli la Domenica delle Palme, e il loro impegno a garantire il proseguimento di questa tradizione.
